Proof
A common question has been asked for many years, where is the proof in God? To that all one can answer to the best of one's ability is, what would you do if you had it? People are like blades of dry grass that want to find themselves an inch from the surface of the sun. Has it ever ocurred to you that the worst thing God could do is to give you everything that you want? Faith is not for his protection, it's for yours.

Ah, New Year! Oh wait....
Shoot, here I was going to keep this blog updated... oh well, here I am. God has been messing with me lately, giving me opportunities to flourish while taking some away. I have been blessed with so many opportunities to play with some great people, pumped about my summer with many worship conventions in line to play! Love making a living on what I enjoy most. God has laid some pretty practical things on my heart, thought I'd share. A great friend of mine once told me we are all like the moon, ugly, covered in craters, full dust, basically just a floating rock, but the sun shines through it, making it bright and beautiful, isn't that exactly what God does with us? We are terrible beings in which have come to be prideful, full of glottony, and lost our innocence, but God lives in us, taking all our flaws and creating beautiful works of art. I love seeing friends change out of their previous struggles and becoming amazing people that I am proud to say I know. Well, that's it this time, I'll up the job situation as soon as I can get a stable gig.
Thanks for reading,
Wesley.

It's been awhile.
Well, since it has been months since I blogged, for many reasons, I thought I would put in a new entry, something short but something that will give some updates. I now work two jobs, getting back into my art, music, and some other things to come, and I am now working on my life as a whole. So with this new season, if you will, I hope you enjoy my posts as they pertain to my life in general, and the events I'll be working on to show the world of God's great love.

Lets have some fun.
I think we should declare a day to act like a kid for a day. A child like innocence that can echo through our city and show that everyone is taking things way too seriously. Though I agree many of us need to grow-up, some of us need to grow-down. Take a day to run around like an idiot, praise God with a child like innocence, and just relax! In a corrupt world, like the one we live in, could you some child like faith. A faith that needs no to be contested amongst even the hardest of souls. We live in a day and age that a homeless good Samaritan can get stabbed trying to help someone that is getting mugged, and OVER FIVE PEOPLE walk by without giving him an ounce of help. We also live in a world where an apartment complex can hear the screams of a woman be raped and not call the police, she had died. I am currently weeping on the fact that we have no child like innocence. We sit around and watch these things happen daily and we don't even blink twice. People wonder why I despise humanity, or why I would devote my life to Ministry and Missions. This is why: Our world could use any ounce of help it could get, whether it's giving a hug, feeding the homeless, or even just saying "hey, I care for you". We could all use some innocence.

No Shoes!
So, you wake up everyday and you typically use the restroom, take a shower, eat some breakfast, workout (unless you are like me and are to lazy to.), put on the outfit you're going to wear for the day, and head off to work/school. In that whole list, what have you taken for granted today? For me it was everything, I had a good breakfast, my shower was nice and hot, and I had shoes that I got to wear for the day. Now we don't typically thank God everyday for allowing us to have these things. These are all blessings. Recently I was looking at buying a pair of TOM'S, and in the website was a little promo, April 6th, a day without shoes. I went on to watch the video and from I a gained a soft heart toward the people he works with. His challenge was for you to go a day without shoes, no matter what, to see what those less fortunate had to go through day after day. I am taking this challenge to the next level, a week without shoes. I have only gone one day and it was intense! Walmart asked me to leave, people looked at me as if I were crazy, and the constant walking on gravel was hard! Well anyway, I have absolutely taken all this for granted and just by doing this doesn't make me live a similar life to one as unfortunate as someone without shoes, but in this I hope to gain a better knowledge of how blessed I am. So, then I ask you, what is your shoes?

This would be a new blog?
Yeah, it has been a while. Lately I have been reading through the book of Jeremiah, from a human's perspective, he had a crap life; but how amazing must it be to know that you are doing exactly what God has told you to do, to be so close to him, to walk with him with no distractions, it is amazing how easily we are distracted by simple things. Oh a butterfly!!! No, but seriously here I am asking why I may have plateaued spiritually, it is because of all these simple distractions. Jeremiah is a great example of what it means to be on mission. So in spite of this new found "perspective" (which is something I will be writing/preparing a sermon for down the road.) I am going to work hard to lose weight (for my missions trip and to be healthier) set my priorities, and focus on the mission. Help people follow and fall in love with Jesus. It makes me so upset on how we can raise our hands at a secular concert and scream our lungs out at the new boyband, yet when we are worshiping to the savior that laid his life down to save us, the most we can do is whisper and put our hands in our pockets. It's something I have to work on, but imagine if one of your best friend, your mom, dad, a sibling, was told that you were going to die, and instead of allowing that to happen to you, laid down their life for you, would you act the same way when that persons name was said, would you get teary eyed and get butterflies? So why is it that this man who has done this and more doesn't receive our full attention and life. So on that note, I will be talking more on perspective down the line of my off scheduled blog life, for now this is it. Hope my savior is able to speak volumes to you.

Alive?
Are you alive yet? It seems like a majority of believers are attracted to Christ only because they think he will solve all problems. Did you know we were called to a life of misery? So why in the world do we constantly find ourselves in this position of, why would you do this to me? Grow up. Look at Ezekiel, his life sucked (from a human perspective), but he lived for Christ and him alone, so when we look at our own lives, is it that bad? I am finding myself more and more impatient, why? Because of all the questions. We constantly try putting a face to God, yet by doing that aren't we creating an idol, we can't just worship Him? We are a sad piece of flesh. We all deserve hell, the fact is that Jesus saved us, yet we need to take advantage of this fact and expect him to solve my money issue, my addictions, the fact that my girlfriend/boyfriend broke up with me. Don't be so naive, grow up. I am so pumped about going to Hillsong, not only to worship him, but to learn.
